Make impact, grow and connect

Would you like to make the most of your time at Rabobank, expand your network, develop new skills and contribute to the most exciting employee network within the bank? Then a committee role at Young Rabo could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What does a committee year involve?

A committee year at Young Rabo is all about connection, collaboration and impact. Together with your committee, consisting of a chair, a treasurer and two to four fellow members, you will organize activities that support the personal and professional development of our members.

These activities may include company visits, workshops, social events, networking sessions, lectures, sports activities, sounding board sessions with senior management and even international trips. Some committees work towards one major annual event, such as a conference or research trip. Other committees organize several events throughout the year, usually one or two activities per quarter.

We believe that personal interaction and a strong team spirit are essential to a successful committee year. We therefore encourage committees to meet three or four times a month, including at least one or two in-person meetings. Meeting in person strengthens engagement and connection, and makes working together not only more effective but also more enjoyable.

What do we expect from you?

  • Commitment, energy and responsibility: You actively contribute to your committee and make time for meetings and organizational tasks. A committee term lasts one year. The role is voluntary, but it does come with responsibilities. We are looking for motivated members who take ownership and follow through on their commitments.
  • Collaboration and connection: You work together as a team to deliver engaging activities and contribute to a positive group dynamic. You are eager to connect with your fellow committee members and the wider Young Rabo community.
  • Leadership for committee chairs: As chair, you coach and support your committee, monitor progress and encourage collaboration and a positive atmosphere. You also attend approximately six committee chair meetings per year, where you meet with the Young Rabo Board and other chairs to share experiences, learn from each other and exchange ideas.

What will you gain?

  • A strong network: You will meet colleagues from across the organization, both within and beyond Young Rabo, and increase your visibility within Rabobank.
  • Connection and fun: You will become part of a close-knit team, build meaningful relationships and enjoy memorable experiences together, from inspiring sessions to informal social events.
  • Personal development: You will work towards your learning goals and develop valuable new skills in a safe and supportive environment. You can also link your committee role to your GROW objectives, allowing you to work purposefully on your development.
  • Valuable experience: You will actively contribute to a network that connects, inspires and empowers young professionals, while demonstrating your commitment to Rabobank. It is also a great addition to your CV!

You will develop campaigns, manage the website, social media channels and newsletters, and help promote events through engaging communications. In doing so, you keep Young Rabo visible, recognizable and appealing to both current and prospective members.

The committee also organizes an annual promotional week and quarterly lunches or social events for new members, as well as managing Young Rabo merchandise. It is a committee full of creativity, variety and impact! Are you a communications enthusiast, social media expert or passionate Young Rabo ambassador? All skills are welcome, from design and strategy to copywriting and storytelling.

Intercompany Committee

The Intercompany Committee is your gateway to a professional network that extends beyond Rabobank. As a committee member, you will organize social events, inspiring networking sessions and sporting activities in collaboration with other companies.

If bringing people together is your passion, both within and beyond Young Rabo, this is the committee for you. Use your creativity to develop new Intercompany events or connect Young Rabo with existing external initiatives.

From 2027 onwards, one member of the Intercompany Committee will also help organize FLAIRS, the largest annual interbank conference in the Netherlands. At FLAIRS, young and ambitious professionals exchange ideas about the financial sector through thought-provoking workshops, presentations and inspiring panel discussions. As a FLAIRS committee member, you will join an interbank committee and collaborate with committee members from other companies. The Board will decide who takes on this role in consultation with the Committee. Would you like to help organize FLAIRS? Please mention this in your motivation.

Lustrum Committee

In 2027, Young Rabo will celebrate its 30th anniversary! This special milestone deserves to be celebrated in style. As a member of the Lustrum Committee, you will organize a range of festive and engaging activities throughout the year, culminating in an unforgettable anniversary celebration.

Together, we will look back on 30 years of Young Rabo, celebrate everything we have achieved and look ahead to the future. The pearl traditionally symbolizes a 30th anniversary, and with your creativity, we will make this a true pearl of a celebration. Would you like to help create an unforgettable anniversary year? Then we are looking for you!

Meet Your Cooperative Bank Committee

Curious about everything happening within Rabobank? The Meet Your Cooperative bank Committee introduces Young Rabo members to the people, departments and developments that make our bank unique.

As a committee member, you will organize inspiring sessions, visits and activities focused on topics such as innovation, sustainability, social impact and the future of the bank. This could include meeting senior leaders, taking a behind-the-scenes look at lesser-known parts of the organization or organizing an activity that allows members to make a positive social impact.

You will help members get to know Rabobank better, expand their network and discover how they can contribute to our cooperative bank. As the grand finale, the committee organizes the Charity Gala at the end of the year, an unforgettable event that raises money for a charity selected by the committee.

Would you like to open doors within Rabobank and show Young Rabo members what is happening across the bank? Then we are looking for you!

Personal Growth & Development Committee

At Young Rabo, the personal development of our members is a key priority. The Personal Growth & Development Committee organizes activities that help members build both soft and hard skills and inspires them to reach their full potential. These activities may include training courses, workshops and sessions with inspiring speakers.

From 2027 onwards, this committee will also coordinate Reversed Coaching and organize the annual Young Rabo Congress. The board will decide who takes on these responsibilities in consultation with the Committee. Would you like to coordinate Reversed Coaching or organize the Young Rabo Congress? Please mention this in your motivation.

Sports & Vitality Committee

Would you like to bring out the athlete in our members and help them stay fit and healthy? Sport is the perfect way to get to know colleagues in an informal setting while supporting both mental and physical well-being.

As a committee member, you will organize sporting activities and events focused on health and vitality. These may include activities related to nutrition and mental well-being, as well as the ever-popular padel tournaments. Think broadly and surprise our members with creative ideas that are good for both body and mind!

Research Trip Committee

Every year, the Research Trip Committee organizes one of the most memorable trips you can experience with your Rabobank colleagues. The trip focuses on exploring how Young Rabo members can add value for Rabobank, its clients or both. It also offers participants opportunities for personal development and expanding their professional network.

Together with a committee of five or six people, you will select a relevant research topic and destination.* You will then develop a complete proposal and pitch it to the Young Rabo Board. Once approved, you will organize an unforgettable week-long research trip for 40 Young Rabo members.

*Travel by air is excluded.
