Young Rabo is the community within Rabobank that connects, inspires, and enables young professionals to grow and make an impact. Together, we are building a future-proof generation within the bank.

To further realize our ambition, we are looking for three new board members.

What does the Young Rabo Board do?

As a board member, you are responsible for the strategic direction of Young Rabo and help shape the future of the community. You manage committees that organize activities and contribute to a strong, visible, and inclusive community within Rabobank.

You actively contribute to the continued growth and impact of Young Rabo across various strategic themes. For 2026 and 2027, our focus areas are: 

• Strengthening the voice of young professionals within Rabobank
• Increasing visibility and engagement across the organization
• Delivering inclusive and future-oriented programming
• Stimulating growth, connection, and leadership development
• Continuing to build a strong and sustainable community

The board meets three times per month, including at least one in-person meeting in Utrecht. In addition, we organize an annual board weekend and several strategic planning days during which we define our focus areas and translate them into concrete initiatives. 

Within the board, members take on dedicated roles, including Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Activity Coordinator, Internal & External Relations, and Media & Communication.

Start and duration

• Start date: Treasurer from December; Activities Coordinator and Internal & External Relations by mutual agreement
• Board inauguration: Committee Year Kick-Off on Thursday, November 5 (save the date!)
• Term: 2–3 years
• Time commitment: Approximately 10 hours per week

Compensation
Board membership is a voluntary position. Expenses can be reimbursed in accordance with the association’s statutes.

Which board positions are we recruiting for?

Treasurer

As Treasurer, you provide a strong financial foundation while actively contributing to strategic decision-making.

Your responsibilities include:

• Managing and monitoring the Young Rabo budget, including preparing and submitting the annual budget request to the Managing Board (MB).
• Ensuring financial transparency and providing insights that support data-driven decision-making on both strategic and operational topics.
• Guiding and supporting the treasurers of the various committees.
• Maintaining reliable and efficient financial administration, including:
• Processing and monitoring payments of the association, including review and approval of committee expense claims
• Keeping financial records accurate and up to date
• Liaising with committees regarding budgets and expenditures
• Monitoring cash flow and overseeing budget performance throughout the year

What you will build upon

Over the past few years, Young Rabo has made significant progress in professionalizing its financial setup, including:

• The implementation of an expense management tool.
• The implementation of a new accounting system.
• The professionalization of the financial administration.

As Treasurer, you can leverage this solid foundation and focus on both operational excellence and strategic financial topics.

Internal & External Relations

In this role, you are the key link between Young Rabo and its internal and external network.

Your responsibilities include:

• Managing communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Creating valuable partnerships and collaborations for our members
• Engaging with relevant networks within and outside the bank
• Preparing and delivering presentations, for example during onboarding programs and events
• Contributing to the strategy and positioning of Young Rabo
• Representing the voice of young professionals within Rabobank

Activity Coordinator

As Activity Coordinator, you ensure inspiring, inclusive, and professionally organized activities for our members.

Your responsibilities include:

• Coordinating and further developing the activity portfolio
• Managing and supporting committees and committee members in planning activities
• Coordinating applications for committee members
• Safeguarding the quality, planning, and diversity of activities
• Translating member needs into new initiatives
• Organizing larger Young Rabo-wide events and board activities
• Driving innovation and continuous improvement within the activity offering

Wat doet het bestuur van Young Rabo?

Als bestuur ben je verantwoordelijk voor de koers van Young Rabo en geef je richting aan de vereniging. Je stuurt commissies aan, die activiteiten organiseren en zorgen voor een sterke, zichtbare en inclusieve community binnen Rabobank.

Je draagt actief bij aan de verdere groei en impact van Young Rabo op de verschillende strategische thema’s. Voor 2026 en 2027 ligt de focus op:

• Het versterken van de voice of young professionals binnen Rabobank
• Het vergroten van zichtbaarheid en betrokkenheid binnen de organisatie
• Het realiseren van inclusieve en toekomstgerichte programmering
• Het stimuleren van groei, verbinding en leiderschapsontwikkeling
• Het verder bouwen aan een sterke, duurzame community

Ons bestuur vergadert drie keer per maand, waarvan minimaal één keer fysiek in Utrecht. Daarnaast plannen wij jaarlijks een bestuursweekend en strategische dagen waarop we onze thema’s bepalen en vertalen naar concrete initiatieven. Binnen het bestuur werken we in vaste rollen als voorzitter, secretaris, penningmeester, activiteitencoördinator, interne & externe relaties en media & communicatie.

Voor welke rollen zoeken wij nieuwe bestuursleden?

Penningmeester

Als Penningmeester zorg jij voor een sterke financiële basis én lever je een actieve bijdrage aan strategische besluitvorming.

Je houdt je o.a. bezig met:

• Beheren en bewaken van het budget van Young Rabo, inclusief het opstellen en indienen van de jaarlijkse budgetaanvraag bij de Managing Board (MB).
• Zorgen voor financiële transparantie en inzichten bieden die datagedreven besluitvorming ondersteunen bij zowel strategische als operationele vraagstukken.
• Aansturen en ondersteunen van de penningmeesters van de commissies.
• Zorgdragen voor een betrouwbare en efficiënte financiële administratie van de vereniging, waaronder:
• Het verwerken en monitoren van betalingen voor de vereniging, inclusief het controleren en goedkeuren van declaraties van commissies.
• Het actueel en accuraat houden van de financiële administratie.
• Het onderhouden van contact met commissies over budgetten en uitgaven.
• Het monitoren van de cashflow en het bewaken van het budget gedurende het jaar.

Waar je als nieuwe penningmeester op voortbouwt

In de afgelopen jaren heeft Young Rabo grote stappen gezet in het professionaliseren van de financiële organisatie, waaronder:

• De implementatie van een declaratietool.
• De implementatie van een nieuw boekhoudsysteem.
• De professionalisering van de financiële administratie.

Als penningmeester bouw je voort op deze solide basis en kun je je richten op zowel operationele excellentie als strategische financiële thema’s.

Interne & Externe Relaties

In deze rol ben jij dé schakel tussen Young Rabo en haar interne en externe netwerk.

Je houdt je o.a. bezig met:

• Communicatie met interne en externe stakeholders
• Creëren van waardevolle samenwerkingen voor onze leden
• Aansluiting bij relevante netwerken binnen en buiten de bank
• Voorbereiden en geven van presentaties (bijv. onboarding en events)
• Vertegenwoordigen van de stem van young professionals binnen Rabobank

Activiteitencoördinator

Als Activiteitencoördinator zorg jij voor inspirerende, inclusieve en goed georganiseerde activiteiten.

Je houdt je o.a. bezig met:

• Coördineren en doorontwikkelen van het activiteitenaanbod
• Aansturen en ondersteunen van commissies en commissieleden in hun activiteitenplanning
• Coördineren van sollicitaties commissieleden
• Bewaken van kwaliteit, planning en diversiteit van activiteiten
• Vertalen van ledenbehoeften naar nieuwe initiatieven
• Organiseren van grotere Young Rabo brede events en bestuursactiviteiten
• Stimuleren van innovatie en vernieuwing binnen het aanbod
